Mark Panick is a versatile Chicago-based musician, bandleader, and songwriter known for his significant contributions to the city's underground rock and industrial scenes since the early 1980s. He first gained notoriety fronting the gothic punk group Bonemen of Barumba, a band whose raw, "ballsy and primitive" sound earned early praise from influential figures like Steve Albini. Throughout his career, Panick has fronted several other eclectic projects, including the techno-influenced Chac Mool and the post-modern rock outfit Razorhouse, while also collaborating with legendary industrial acts like Ministry and the Revolting Cocks.

As a songwriter, Panick’s work is characterized by a "dark roots" foundation and cinematic, atmospheric textures that explore the grittier aspects of the human condition. His lyrics often delve into themes of addiction, hopelessness, and urban reality, delivered with a vocal style that ranges from tough to tender. In addition to his rock and industrial roots, his more recent work with Black Friars Social Club showcases an atypical, intimate spin on Americana and alt-folk.
